Across chapters of the work, atmosphere is my lodestar - as a subject, a tone and a teacher. My practice serves as a portal - a window to the unseen space. 

Primarily a painter, my practice is a means to project the inward light outward through layers of oil and fog. Across chapters of the work, my art embodies Daoist philosophy with Romantic ideas of the sublime, transience and impermanence. Through time, the invisible landscape is unveiled, and so too the continuing passage of the soul.

My art follows a ritual episodic process, each piece a new iteration emerging formatively to a greater unspoken narrative. This gradual nature enables the work to grow organically alongside a poetic parallel, informing the work as lyrics to music. A dichotomy exists between avenues of my practice, how one may spawn the other in motion and in stasis. I find balance and in the processes underlying my practice – my work highlights the many subtle twofold aspects of nature, how muted tones may enliven the rest, and how alone I hear the otherness.

Echoed in time, my images sway with the four winds, walking the road to here. Toward and away from the known, they seek the dim glimmer of the hidden, calling yonder.
